McDONALD'S TOYS & COLLECTABLES
RELEASED IN NEW ZEALAND

This is not a list of what I have in stock at any time.  Rather, it's a catalogue of all significant items released in New Zealand.  While I have 95+ percent of items released here I don't always have stocks of (a) rare, early items; (b) extremely popular toys such as Snoopy's World Tour; or (c) the very latest sets.  (I'm currently finding it very difficult to keep up with demand from foreign collectors for the 1999 sets, for example.) 

COMPOSITION OF SETS:  Where the description in the list is simply "four items" this means that there is a Birdie, Grimace, Hamburglar and Ronald in the set.  Unless stated otherwise, prices for sets are the prices for single items multiplied by the number of items in the set.

DATES ETC:  Toys and collectables are listed in order of their release in New Zealand, but some of the dates of release are my best guess.  If local collectors have more accurate information, it would be appreciated if they would let me have it.  I'd also be grateful for advice of any amendments or additions to the list.

CONDITION:  The assumption made throughout is that toys are in good condition.  Worn, damaged or dirty McDonald's toys have no value. PRICES: are expressed in US dollars. 

MAIL ORDERS: postage is charged at cost.  Foreign orders are sent by economy air.

Fraggle Rock:  The two U-3 toys - simplified toys for infants - were released in New Zealand as "wash-ups" or fillers between sets at some point (possibly long after the US release date), but the four toys in the rest of the set were released in the US only.

Luggage tags: Four items, each comprising 3 pieces + paper insert.  Scarce complete and in good order.  US$3+ each; US$7.50+ MIP

Grimace's Golf Game:
click here for larger photo, then click back on your browser to return here.A rare and very mysterious item, marked "1983 McDonald's.  Made in U.S.A.", it is a green mini-golf game comprising four pieces: a base with a flip-up Grimace; a flag; a putter; and a ball.  US$25+
 
 

Happy Face Masks:

Four items - Ronald/red tray; Hamburglar /black tray; Big Mac/yellow tray; Grimace/purple tray - which are the rarest New Zealand item of them all.  Very difficult to find complete and in good order.  US$50+ each
 
 
 

Happy Meal Buckets:
click here for larger photo, then click back on your browser to return here.Four buckets, each comprising four pieces - bucket, handle, lid and spade.  They are rare complete and good order, partly because McD meals were served in these buckets, in the same style as the buckets frequently used by Kentucky Fried Chicken.  The set comprises At the Beach (blue handle & lid); In the Parade (orange handle & lid); On Vacation (green handle & lid); and Picnic (yellow handle & lid).   US$17.50+ each

McDonaldland Figurines (also known as "Small Figures"):
click here for larger photo, then click back on your browser to return here.Four figures, hard to find in good order: Ronald, Mayor McCheese, Big Mac Policeman, Hamburglar.  The New Zealand Mayor McCheese has his arms out; a second Mayor McCheese, apparently released in Canada in 1995, has his hands behind his back.  There are also two versions of Hamburglar, one of which (the Canadian figure) has a long, pointy nose.
