McDONALD'S TOYS & COLLECTABLES
RELEASED IN NEW ZEALAND
This is not a list of what I have in stock at any time. Rather,
it's a catalogue of all significant items released in New Zealand.
While I have 95+ percent of items released here I don't always have stocks
of (a) rare, early items; (b) extremely popular toys such as Snoopy's World
Tour; or (c) the very latest sets. (I'm currently finding it very
difficult to keep up with demand from foreign collectors for the 1999 sets,
for example.)
COMPOSITION OF SETS: Where the description in the list
is simply "four items" this means that there is a Birdie, Grimace, Hamburglar
and Ronald in the set. Unless stated otherwise, prices for sets are
the prices for single items multiplied by the number of items in the set.
DATES ETC: Toys and collectables are listed in order of
their release in New Zealand, but some of the dates of release are my best
guess. If local collectors have more accurate information, it would
be appreciated if they would let me have it. I'd also be grateful
for advice of any amendments or additions to the list.
CONDITION: The assumption made throughout is that toys
are in good condition. Worn, damaged or dirty McDonald's toys have
no value.
PRICES: are expressed in US dollars.
MAIL ORDERS: postage is charged at cost. Foreign orders
are sent by economy air.
Note: MIP = Mint in Packet

dragon background); Goofy in DinoLand USA (Goofy with a dinosaur: excavation
site background); Mickey on Kilimanjaro Safaris (Mickey in a jeep: elephants
background); and Minnie in Gorilla Falls Exploration Trails (Minnie with
a gorilla: gorillas background). US$1 each (without cardboard backdrops);
US$2.50 MIP (includes backdrop). The set (loose): US$2.50

"Mission
to McDonaldland": After the vanishing 1997 CD, most collectors made sure
they bought the 1998 version.

with birthday packages.

Unit.

Mulan:
This
set, originally released in Japan in September 1998 to coincide with release
of the Disney cartoon, comprised eight figures: 1 – Mulan and her armour;
2 – Khan (Mulan's horse); 3 - Little Brother (a dog); 4 - Shan-Yu (the
leader of the Hun invaders); 5 – Mushu (a red dragon); 6 - Shang-Li (the
male hero); 7 - Cri-Kee (a cricket); and 8 - Chien-Po, Ling and Yao.
According to McDonald's this was the first time that the same Happy Meal
set had been distributed at all 25,000 restaurants around the world.

Winnie the Pooh's Most Grand Adventure:
This
set, originally released in Japan in August 1998 to coincide with the new
Disney movie-length cartoon video, comprises Eeyore, Rabbit & Monster
Tree, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh. I have had a lot of trouble with this
set. Four of the figures - Eeyore, the Monster Tree, Tigger and Winnie
- are spring-loaded (Eeyore nods his head; the Monster Tree rolls its eyes;
Tigger raises and lowers his arms and Winnie lowers and raises his honey
pot). Trouble is, the springs are broken in many of these toys; especially
the Winnies.
Winnie the Pooh: US$5; the others US$1 each (good working order!)
The set, loose: US$4.50
MIP: US$10 per set
PRICES: are expressed in US dollars.
